Evalution-Question Six

What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?

During this project I have used varying programs and technologies. Some of this programs have been new to me others I have used a little before.

The first new technology I used was blogger- I had never ‘blogged’ before so this was new to me however I soon picked up how to work it and I would say I am quite confident in using it to the best potential.
Indesign was a programme I wasn’t familiar with but as I have worked with it, it has become easier to work with and I worked what kind of things I could create with it. I now feel alot more confident using the programme.

Photoshop is another programme I worked a little bit with, to edit the photo’s I included in the magazine.  I also used an online editing site called ‘Picmonkey’ to do some editing as well.

In order to get audience feedback I used Photobooth on the Mac computers, this was so I could video the response.

I also used the social network Facebook to get audience feedback. I used Slideshare and Prezi to present findings and ideas professionally.

I also used a Cannon 1100D camera to take the photograph's throught out my magazine.

Evaluation- Question Five

How did you attract/address your audience?

I attracted the audience be creating a front cover which would appeal and catch their eye. I have done this by creating a bold masthead which connotes both the genre and brand identity. The central image is quite bold and again eye catching. The coverlines are bold and address the audience in a personal and friendly/informal way, this is connects them to the magazine and feel more drawn in leading to the purchase of the magazine. The colours scheme of the front cover would also attract the target audience; this is because there is contrast between the colours.

Do you like the Front cover and Why?
The target audience felt that my front cover had a fun and intersting vibe to it. They liked the fact that it gave them more information about the content inside. The puff attracted them and so did the central image

Do you like the contents page and why?

The target audience thought there was continuity from the front page to the contents and found this attractive and professional. The colours also added to this continuity. Both of them also appreciated the text to picture ratio, noting that it didn't put them off the buying the magazine.

Do you like the double page spread and why?

Final Contents Page

This is my final contents page, I have done the changes which the target audience said needed changing. I filled in the white space and changed the bottom right hand to a more suitable image which wasn't on the front cover.

First Draft of Contents Page

This is my contents page before i get feedback, i will ask a focus group what they like and what could be changed in order for it to be improved.

Final Double Page Spread

This is my final double page spread, i changed the heading to make it more exciting  and interesting which will hopefully interest and connect with the audience.  I also changed the page number placing on 'page 13'.  I also added a quote to engage the readers attention.

Final Front Cover

From the audience feedback I gained from the focus group I have changed the masthead font. They thought that this would be a an important changed to make so that the audience would actually get attracted to the magazine font. I think that this font 'DK-codswallop' is more appropriate than the previous font. I think this because this font connotes more of a pop genre and teenagers. I also made the barcode smaller as the focus group said that it was too big and they noticed to much whereas on real magazines they didn't really notice they were there.

Double Page Spread Feedback

I got feedback from a person who would be the target audience, a teenaged girl. Her feedback was helpful as I now know what to change in order for it to attract the target audience. I first asked her 'Is there continuity from the other pages?' Her response was that there was continuity because of the colours and text, I therefore don't need to do change anything on this. She also said the images were suitable, as well as the text to image ratio. The main thing which she said needed changing the heading- so this is what I will change in order it for it to attract the audience.
